3 good things | Hairbrushes, headphones & my fave books this year
#2 - 3 good things is a short form regular round up of things I love and recommend
3 good things is a short form regular round up. Things that I love and recommend, often books, but not limited to this. May include: podcasts, skincare, wines, hotels, wishlists… anything really!
With more time outside (on the beach, in the sea, with the roof down, at the top of a mountain) you need to know about the best ever hairbrush. This is the GOAT at detangling and has been tested everywhere - from my sister’s gorgeously wild hair to salty, windswept hair post boat trips. This brush works exceptionally well and is worth the bother of importing from the US (or if you’re travelling there get it shipped in advance to your hotel). I know it’s pricey but you’ll never need another. Mine has survived 5+ years of battering already and I am still delighted every time I used it.
I’ve made the switch back to corded headphones after listening to this conversation with Rick Rubin and Andrew Huberman (20 mins in). Huberman mentioned how his AirPods inflamed his lymph nodes behind his ears and my jaw dropped open - I’ve been getting this without knowing what it was. They disappeared immediately once I switched, and I’m told by the lucky recipients of my calls whilst on windy walks that the sound quality is much better too.
I have been considering which books have captured my heart this year so far. I would define this as stories that you both can’t stop thinking about and can’t stop recommending and for 2024 it’s a long longlist, with just two making the shortlist: Still Life by Sarah Winman and the Cazalet Chronicles by Elizabeth Jane Howard. (Note: 2024 is the year I first read them, not the year they were published). I can’t stop talking about them so I’m sure you know already, but have you read them yet?! Please read so we can passionately discuss, before I move to Florence and live out my Still Life daydreams.
Thanks for reading! If you enjoyed this post, hitting 🤍 below helps others to find it. This is trying something new and a bit shorter - do you like it?
